Hywel Berry
Founder and Executive editor
Hywel worked as an actor through his teenage years where he died early on in various TV and Film projects. He then went on to study an MA in Film, Television and Theatre at Glasgow University.
In 1999 Hywel moved to London to seek his fortune as a writer. Since then he has sold scripts to the BBC, Tiger Aspect television and MTV. He has also been a contributing writer to Channel 4 theme nights and BBC sketch shows.
However, the fortune he sought never quite materialised. Indeed, as the years went on, and requests poured in from colleagues, he ended up spending more time editing and analysing other people’s work than he did writing his own.
Finally, in 2007, Hywel had to face the reality that ‘doing’ and ‘helping others do better’ are different skills, and unfortunately Hywel’s talents fell into the latter category.
Since founding Scripteditor.co.uk in 2007 Hywel has realised that there is also no fortune to be made in helping others either. However, he is very happy to be helping new and professional writers alike to improve their work as they seek their own fortunes.
Other Editors
All other editors work on a freelance basis for us, but must have worked professionally as a writer in the UK or US and go through an extensive test period before analysing client scripts.
Never Forget
We are a very small and burgeoning business, but all of us here at scripteditor.co.uk are aware that criticism is easy, but honest, useful, knowledgeable feedback is not. If we truly help you to become better writers then we hope that you will come back again and recommend us to your friends and colleagues. After all, we need to make a living too.
